LV21 partnered with Cohesion Plus and The Grand Healthy Living Centre to deliver 6WTW Gravesham - a programme of art and wellbeing.

I can have a positive impact on young people’s lives though delivering Arts Award support, promoting different art forms and sharing knowledge about the six ways to wellbeing”

LV21 partnered with Cohesion Plus and The Grand Healthy Living Centre to deliver 6WTW Gravesham - a programme of art and wellbeing.

The Six Ways to Wellbeing acted as the central focus for the partnership project and was embedded in every element. Through this focus, the partnership followed a clear framework in order to effectively promote the Six Ways to Wellbeing:

  • connect young people,
  • encourage them to be active,
  • allow them to take notice and enjoy new experiences,
  • keep learning by gaining new skills,
  • give by taking part in community activities and having access to volunteering opportunities.
“Seeing first hand how participation in some simple, but unfamiliar arts activities can make a huge difference in individual young people’s wellbeing.” – Youth Worker
“Thank you so much for all your work with the youngsters. They’ve really enjoyed working alongside you, learning new skills and taking part in arts. You’re really made a difference.” – Parent

Taster arts sessions concurrent with the large-scale festivals in Gravesham were used to raise awareness and inspire young people to sign up. Through these festivals/events, 6WTW Gravesham had the potential to reach over 10,000 people.

The partnership developed creative workshops led by experienced artists and gave young people the opportunity to attend 42 varied sessions. The young people could learn new skills in street art, sculpture, illustration, dance, music and performance. The 6WTW project was celebrated through performances at Christmas lights events and a community celebration event.

The partnership developed Superheroes to illustrate the Six Ways to Wellbeing. This creative approach successfully engaged over 1000 young people at the taster sessions and 100 young people during the workshops.

Their approach has enabled all participants to further understand and adopt the Six Ways to Wellbeing. 6W2W Gravesham developed 40 Wellbeing Champions to continue spreading their knowledge of six ways in the community, with a further 20 young people signed up to complete their Arts Award.
